This is a completely different video to our normal archive productions and has been made at the instigation of a shareholder in the 80072 Preservation Group at Llangollen. This is a project that we at B & R totally support as we would like to put something back into the "new" steam era in preservation for the all the enjoyment we had when steam was in service on BR. So all profits from the sales of this video go to restoring Standard Class 4 tank 80072. The price of this video is reduced because it was easier to produce than our normal videos. Using modern day video for part of the film meant that sound was already there. Nevertheless there is over 15 minutes of good quality archive film showing the development of the 80000 class from Fowler's 1927 2-6-4 tanks through Stanier and Fairburn varieties, including two views of 800072 itself in service on BR. 80002 and 80135 feature preserved and video coverage of the visit of 80079 to Llangollen in 1993 transformed into 80072 on two occasions for our cameras. See how this was achieved and how photographic runpasts are organised. All archive film and video coverage in the production has been donated free by some of our regular suppliers, royalties payable only to the 80072 Group. We hope this video is also worthy of your support.
